A young and notorious poet in Romantic Era Berlin decides to end it all. Try though he might, he is unable to convince his skeptical cousin Marie to join him in a suicide pact — go figure. Along comes Henrietta, who finds his plan intriguing and agrees to navigate the uncharted journey towards ultimate love. Amour Fou (Wild Love) – inspired by the actual suicide pact in 1811 of Heinrich von Kleist (who wrote “The Mariquis of O”) and Henrietta Vogel – goes against expectations to become a wry and curious critique of dying for love.
